מדפי לכל כיס - USHER S-520 .

By: Lior Vikel.

At first glance I was sure it was the PROAC RESPONSE

similar elements. equal size. But does it sound like him?

After taking the floor-standing USHER for review (can be read here ), we decided to test their small shelves in the series (there are other larger shelves).

Especially in this period of the Corona when working from home and sitting for quite a few hours in front of a computer, we want to indulge ourselves with a speaker that on the one hand will not be too big and on the other hand will provide quality audio as it should. Because most of the USHER products I know are products with a very high line. And suddenly their product is NIS 2600? It intrigued me.

As small as they look, they are quite heavy. Weight of 7 kilos for each speaker.

The 5 inch woofer is transparent, which is really, really beautiful. There is no doubt that USHER knows how to make speakers :). Sometimes it seems strange to me. How at such a price did they put such parts. The driver is protected by the speaker. The screws that hold the tweeter and the subwoofer are made of metal as it should be.

The speaker is TWO WAY with a front port, USHER uses here a technology called Symme-Motion. This technology basically allows the diaphragm to move back and forth symmetrically thanks to several magnetic systems inherent in the speaker, thus causing the membrane to remain centered. The crossover uses polypropylene capacitors.

I usually like to listen without the grills. It gives a little more volume. open More pleasant. Not much different. But here in S520. It was wow. Even amazing.

So we connected to the power and the cow of my GATO. How do we say "music maestro", the truth is I didn't expect to be surrounded by a shelf speaker, but it gave me a ringing slap in the face. how tall What a MID. I let him play Queen, Jazz. Vocal. Pavarotti, he didn't fall in any of them. Leap forward like a soldier in battle.

I started with Cassandra Wilson

Her voice caressed. Recording is recommended for each test.

Mark Ribot's fingers felt wonderful through the speaker.

I continued with the two magicians Duke and Louie.

The saxophone does not sound tiring or annoying. I even heard it to the end :) .

Again I deviated from my custom :) and let the next song play. USHER's bass here also impressed me.

Here as well as on my floor, USHER protects their equipment with two cartons, which I really liked.

So who are they for? It's really hard to answer this question. I have seen quite a few people who have made them their main front speakers. And even full surround sound.

In my review, they were connected to my personal computer stand. Especially during the Corona period, quite a few people work from home, this is the ideal solution, I don't think there are shelves that can compete with their price.

2600 shekels for such a product? a joke But this is reality.

They will also give excellent work to the living room, bedroom, etc.
